- I’m just here to remind you that CHOOSING TO PROTECT yourself and the family that YOU created, at all costs, is NOT selfish. No matter how much people will try to guilt trip you - it is NOT your responsibility. I struggled for a very LONG time with this and I did everything I could do to be a “good” daughter. Sometimes you have to accept the fact that if they don’t want to, they will never change. I have to take care of MY babies and family now - in all of the ways that I was NEVER taken care of. Show up for them in all the ways that I was never shown up for.
- So I'm at a stop light, and I'm sure every lady can relate to the effort I was putting into ignoring the guy in the brand new red sporty car that kept staring at me. Sure enough my effort was worth it when the light changed, and he peeled out. He sped for like maybe a quarter of a mile before a cop caught up with him. Note: The cop witnessed the whole thing, and I'm sure he saw the WTF look on my face when dude peeled out. I'm feeling pretty good.
