Any Super Easy Dinner Ideas As I Had Body Surgery To Repair The Damage?
Hello, Good evening people, I am looking for some super easy dinner ideas, I had a blockage in my intestines, they went thru my main artery in my arm last Monday to place a stint, come Tuesday I was in the worst pain in my life and my arm n hand were 5 times normal size, got to ER and found out the artery ruptured creating blood clots and they found a Aneurysm ( Aneurysmal Dilatation), so I went back down for emergency surgery to repair the damage it's gonna take me awhile to completely heal I currently lose feeling in my hand off n on and still dealing with the pain. My husband has been the best and has been completely taking care of everything that includes our 4 kids 15,10,9 & 6. I want to start cooking to take some of the burden off him and looking for some easy quick throw together meals.
Thanks to my insurance company, all bills were taken care and i free of debts to pay so far.
Thanks in advance.

Have your oldest help you or buy all pre prepared w cutting & peeling. Stick to crockpot dinners so you do not have to lift pots & pans from the oven. W loss of sensation, ALWAYS look at you hand & arm, as it is too easily injured & you don't feel it. Touch, test hot & cold w your uninjured extremity.
It will take a while for your sensation to return to normal. Do not be surprised if the hand, arm feels jabbing pain or itching. Just massage it. It is what happens w return sometimes. Tell your doc.You could find someone else to help you with the cooking, or you could be able to make meatloaf, spaghetti, boil chicken bread which can be made into so many items.
By the way, baked potatoes, cook frozen vegetables enough for 2 nights and don't forget a yummy put roast in your crock pot is so easy and cooks itself.
God Bless and praying for a speedy recovery.I wouldn't cook while not having feeling in your hand. You can easily get a burn and not know it right away. Maybe mix up and put together casseroles that hubby can just throw in the oven?
Maybe put together easy stir fry or stews or other one pot meals that can be quickly cooked by someone else.
I also suggest you with the assistance of someone else to cook Broccoli and rice casserole with a pound of ground sausage or ground beef browned and added to the mix. 350 for 30 to 40 min. I would cook this recipe:
Broccoli and rice casserole with a pound of ground sausage or ground beef browned and added to the mix. 350 for 30 to 40 min. I have added chicken in the past too. It is very good!- By News Update
I guess my MiMi's Soup can apply to your Q.!
here it goes.. Make in the Crockpot cooker or Instant pot Brown a couple pounds ground beef with onions, add 2 cans corn and several diced potatoes, a couple beef bouillon cubes, salt, pepper to taste, and garlic powder.
Add a bottle of V-8 juice. If using Instant pot just hit soup setting. Even my picky grand kids like this.
Serve with crackers, corn bread, or canned biscuits. - By Marley Rose
Taco pie: two deep dish pie crusts, baked. Cook hamburger, add taco seasonings and cook and drain. Put taco meat in shells, add shredded cheese and put back in the oven to melt the cheese. Slice and add toppings. Sour cream, lettuce, tomatoes, olives , or another could be:
Goulash is easy. If you can get your kids to help out...7 layer dinner is a hit!
Layer thinly sliced potato, sliced carrots, a layer of sliced onion (if your kids will eat that!, 1/3 cup uncooked rice, a can of peas or a layer of frozen peas topped with sausages or ground beef then a tin of tomato soup diluted with a cup of water. Bake covered about 1 hour, turn sausages then another 1 hour uncovered until potatoes are tender.
The cooking recipe also could be cooked with Ground beef, tomato sauce, beef broth, cheddar cheese, green. Cook The Hungarian dish called Goulash, it is easy on a slow cooker.

I have added chicken in the past too many soups on the Crock Pots. It was really very good!
Also you can try cooking the MiMi's Soup, just cook it like this: Make in the crockpot or perhaps Instant pot Brown a couple pounds ground beef with onions ,add 2 cans corn and several diced potatoes ,a couple beef bouillon cubes, salt ,pepper to taste, and garlic powder. Add a bottle of V-8 juice. If using Instant pot just hit soup setting. Even some picky, children like the grand kids like this. Serve with crackers, corn bread, or canned biscuits.

I think the 15 year old should be able to make meatloaf, spaghetti, boil chicken bread which can be made into so many items. Baked potatoes, cook frozen vegetables enough for 2 nights and don't forget a yummy put roast in your crock pot is so easy and cooks itself.
The Crockpot is a good one but as for time taken to fix things before cooking them is probably important. I take veggies and meat together in a baking dish and cook it all together, Similar to the crock pot without lifting the heavy crock cooking pot.

The kids should be able to help with the cooking, cleaning and laundry.
Even the 6 year old can help with a lot of the chores.
If it is still cold where you are, then soups and sandwiches are easy, pork or beef roast with potatoes and carrots is easy and they could do it.
Mac and Cheese (can add tuna, hot dogs, crumbled cooked hamburger, etc into it for something different).
I didn't go thru the comments so these may have been suggested already.
Beans and weenies is also easy. Each kid should gets an item to work on. You orchestrate all of them.
They need to learn how to really cook, and clean and run a household.
Now's a great time to teach them.By helping out at home, when they go out on their own, they will do right well.
Get everyone together.
Present the changes. Build a calendar.
A different kid cooks dinner each night, who does laundry, dust vacuum, garbage out, each kid is responsible for their room too as well as house. they have to strip their own beds and bring sheets to laundry.
They all are at that age of "No Way" but this is needed now.
You can perfectly talk to all of them.
In my case. my family did this and we learned and i'm glad i did.
Happy cooking.
Praying for you all...God bless You! The two older ones could cook some easy meals now and then....and take care of the younger ones.. concentrate more on your health..let someone else concentrate on you.
Also, some people might not like it but quick. Macaroni's cooked. Stir in frozen meatball mix in with green onions chopped and cheese put in oven about 350 until cheese melts, any meat will do we like smoked sausage, and maybe a salad.- By Mary Ellis
I just went through a similar situation. everything you said happened to me. I feel your pain. With blood clots, you should try not to move about too much until the Doctor tells you the clot is gone. If you must cook, do beans and rice, a pot of soup, or anything you can put in the crock pot. Make it as easy on yourself as possible, Your family needs you!
If you're budget can afford it...I suggest fish stick / or portions... Velveeta shells, breaded chicken strips.... spaghetti...frozen pizza ....chicken and noodles are easy...boil chicken breast...cool and chop...cook egg noodles in chicken broth...add cream of chicken soup to thicken and the chopped chicken....all you have to do is Be a supervisor...you need to rest...kids can cook these items...hubby gets a break...not the greatest choices... But absolutely kids can help!!!
I make a Tex-Mex dish that's easy. Brown 1 # ground beef, 1 med. onion, chopped, 1 pkg taco seasoning. Melt in an 8 oz pkg of cream cheese. Pour a jar of salsa in a baking dish. Cook Jumbo pasta shells and drain. Fill shells with the meat mixture and put into baking dish. Cover all with 2 cups of shredded cheese. Bake 350 until the cheese has melted.
Stew ( Xtra gravy & Purée )
Chicken’n noodles or dumplings ( xtra gravy; chicken Puréed with some gravy; use small noodles or grind a little)
Meatloaf (ask butcher to double-grind) the meat; mashed potatoes w/gravy, and mushy peas
French onion soup; with the soft middle of Italian bread to dip in (soak it)
Sweet potato (baked, peeled and whipped with butter, brown sugar, and enough milk to make it as firm or loose as you like
Pate or liver sausage (room temperature with a little broth mixed in to loosen it). Eat on middles of soft Italian bread; keep a little broth in a bowl on the side to dip/soak the bread
