How Much Ebay Will Pay If It Loses The Legal Case Of Violations To Clean Air Act?The Rolling coal devices tool kits sales on Ebay's Online Platform to Get Sued by DOJ’s prosecutors who filed a 61-page complaint for violations to Clean Air Act.
The online seller platform could end up paying more than a billion dollars if it the court orders to pay because Ebay lost the legal case.
A possible amount over a billion dollars or even more in fines for allegedly allowing thousands of pollution devices called Rolling Coal, together with some other products that has been violating environmental US laws, those items to be sold on Ebay's platform online.

The Rolling coal devices allow pumping more diesel once it has been installed on the fuel pumps of the recommended vehicle manufacture and US laws. Installing a tampering device to pump is an illegal practice because it injects big amounts of fuel into the motor of the car and it produces pollution into the air and the atmosphere in a form of dark black clouds of smoke from the engine exhaust system.

It is known that on anti-environmental protest, Coal rollers protesters used the device installed on certain vehicles like Tesla cars, Prius vehicles and some other electric or hybrid cars.

On behalf of the Environmental Protection Agency, the lawsuit was filed at the Department of Justice to claim the e-commerce Corp Ebay had enabled selling a bigger amount than 300,000 rolling coal devices with the knowledge that this practice was prohibit by Law.
It is considered that the amount of $5,580 under the Clean Air Act will be what the Online platform company will pay if it loses the case and that amount multiplied by over 300,000 units sold it could be an amount grater than one billion dollars to pay by the seller.

The corporation Ebay did not accept being guilty and it's lawyers representatives denied the charges in a public statement already, They said that Ebay blocked “a total over 99.9% of listings for the products mentioned and cited by the DOJ, and that amount of blocked listings and many other millions of listings on many years. They also said that EBay got in a partnership with police law enforcement, including the DOJ, for over 20 years on identifying emerging risks and assisting with prevention and law enforcement.

At the DOJ’s a 61-page complaint documentation included screenshots of emissions tampering devices that were listed on eBay’s platform during many years in the past.

It is know that Rolling coal devices are among several tools (a set of tools to install on vehicles exhaust, vehicle's owners and drivers can order installations and used them to disable or tamper with a vehicle’s pre-installed emissions control systems and braking the law because the government agency EPA requires of all vehicles.
Also an amount close to 5,600 dangerous contaminator Methylene chloride paint removers chemicals, plus 23,000 prohibited pesticide products, both of which the EPA banned for their safety hazards. prosecutors argue that eBay allowed the sale of an amount bigger than those amounts mentioned,
The prosecutors said in the filing argued that Ebay has the tools and authority to control those listings of selling illegal products and cooperate with the law and avoid fines to pay for violations to Clean Air Act.
