Today would have been my mother's 68th Birthday, so I am cooking bone in pork steaks floured and fried in lard in her memory. I can almost see her at the stove frying these right now. Mom loved to cook so this dedicated celebration meal is for her. Love and miss you mom!!

In early 2000 my little boy used to wake up in the night and having nightmares. He'd wake up crying and sweating and saying that he was dreaming about a star falling out of the sky. He told me it was green and he could see "green fire" behind it. I hadf put it down to covid anxiety and thought he was just having particularly bad dreams because his mind was working overtime and there had been so much change in his life in such a short time as he was only 4 yrs old then. Anyway around a week or so after the last time he had woke up crying about the "falling star" I saw a news announcement about comet Neowise and how it was going to be visible to the eye from a certain date onwards. The picture was of a green comet with a green tail. My son was looking over my shoulder at the time and he said Daddy that's the star in my dream! The green falling star. So, he had dreamt about comet Neowise before it had even been announced and because he didn't know what a comet was she just called it a falling green star. I never told anyone about this until now.

Sometimes I let my son watch videos while my phone is charging. Today at one point he unplugged it. Little did I know it had messed up and the end was impossible to touch. I assume he rolled over on the cord and while trying to get off and away from it got burned several times. After I unplugged the charger and it cooled down I plugged it back in instantly the tip was hot enough to burn the skin. Please always make sure to keep the charges away from kids unplug them when not in use and touch the end to make sure it's not hot.
